Governance Center for Public Policies issues the National Index for Democratic Transformation in Iraq 2023, for the sixth year in a row. The index was prepared by a group of Iraqi specialists and experts, it represents a measure to determine the level of democratic transformation in Iraq. The work included conducting a broad field survey based on field research that included a survey (1067) of citizens in all Iraqi governorates to extract the opinions of citizens on the indicators approved by the experts. The survey found that Iraq achieved a cumulative score of 4.2 out of 10. Hence, Iraq is categorized into the category of – partially authoritarian transitional.
