The establishing body of the Public Opinion Management Alliance held its first meeting on Sunday 7/6/2020 to discuss the founders’ vision of the goals of the Alliance and its future work according to the facts of the reality of public opinion in Iraq, Especially after the protest movement that Iraq witnessed on the first of October 2019, That led to the protest Squares, virtual space, and media channels becoming broad platforms for debate
The meeting diagnosed the loss of the right path for managing public opinion, and the importance of employing it in the right direction to transform from anarchic public opinion to the last organizer in which all levels of influence within the segments of society are involved, which required the necessity of gathering elites from youth, thinkers, academics and decision-makers within the alliance through dialogue groups To create an interactive process, and to make an integrated course that documents and presents the Iraqi public opinion, and passes it through the educated elite to deliver it to the Decision-makers ,so that it becomes institutional and enforceable decisions
The attendees agreed on the mechanism of the alliance’s work by attracting youth groups and the supportive elite to crystallize attitudes and orientations of the October protest movement, And employing it on a path that serves the building of a democratic state worthy of them. Also, attracting legislative and executive officials believed in change, and creating an area of communication, understanding and trust between between officials and activists
Note that the founders of the alliance are: Dr. Nibras Al Mamory the representative of Iraqi women Journalist forum (IWJF), Dr. Muntasser Al-Eidani, the representative of Governance center for public policies (GCPP),and Khaled Al-Nasser the representative of Human rights Women defenders Sawtuha network.
